TheLostBrothers Introducing... The Lost Brothers

WHAT’S THE STORY?: I first heard the Lost Brothers when I was involved with filming a group of bands at Sheffield’s Club 60. The Brothers were the only band to have girls waiting hours upon hours to see them, and be patient with us after we’d downed too many complimentary Monster Energy drinks to make any sense.

Two lovely guys – with the power to melt the hearts of women and steady the caffeinated ramblings of men – the Lost Brothers, “met under a pale moon, in the ruins of an old Irish castle, to the sound of a whailing [sic] banshee. It was in the graveyard outside, that their two souls made a pact, to go forth and decipher songs from their dreams. They then set off into the cold dark night on horseback, in search of the great truth”. So the usual really.

RELEASES: Debut out now titled, ‘Trails of the lonely parts I and III’ on Bird Dog Recordings.

GIGS: Constantly touring, these two guys are happy enough playing anywhere, including your living room, kitchen, hallway, or garden… should you ask nicely. Their attitude live is par-for-the-course in the world of modern acoustic folk; a friendly vibe with some audience interaction, usually wearing clothes too warm for the radioactive glow of stage lighting.

THEY SAY: More folklore involving, “messenger spirits in the form of a white eagle,” and, “haunted saloons”.

WE SAY: In the heart of every music fan, regardless of scene or genre preference, there should be a space for the beautifully crafted warmth of the Lost Brothers music. They may not challenge your perception of the world, or unsettle the foundations of the venue, but they’ll provide an excellent soundtrack to sip your drink and relax.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: Inoffensive songs about faded imagery and bygone values, sung with bitter-sweet, melancholic harmonies.
