WHAT’S THE STORY?: ‘Collectors Club’ began with no more than Joe C and Lewi having regular jamming sessions during their college lunch breaks. After the addition of Joe S and Chris, the four lads started throwing some covers together by the likes of Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes. This was followed by making a step up to writing their own music in Chris’s attic, which was where their first song ‘When She’s With Me’ was born.
With a few recordings complete and looking to take the leap to the live scene, they recruited drummer Joshua and secured their first gig for the end of 2010.
The gig was a roaring success and the band haven’t looked back since.
RELEASES: As of yet, there have been no official single or album releases but everything the band has put together can be found here;
GIGS: Nothing confirmed as of yet as the band are currently putting enough songs together to make an album’s worth. They do however have a couple of unconfirmed dates for easter;
Middlesbrough Empire, Middlesbrough
Uncle Alberts, Middlesbrough
THEY SAY: “We basically got together through a shared love of arguing about music, killing time in between lessons in sixth form and writing some pleasant riffs. It’s easy to say but we all love music with a stupid passion and just wanted to be a part of it in some small way. Thankfully some microphones in Chris’s attic was enough to make some (hopefully) decent sounding songs and land us our first gig, so we’re just aiming to carry on from there and get as far with it as we can. We tend to write stuff that we’d like to hear ourselves and as long as we make music that people love to listen to and that we love to write and play we’ll probably carry on doing it!
WE SAY: This band is on the up. They have experience and time on their side, and will no doubt put it to the best use possible.
They know what they’re doing and they’re doing it well. You can see that they enjoy it and so they should.
With a strong end to 2010, they’ll certainly be getting talked about throughout 2011 and will continue to thrive in terms of talent and success.
Welcome to the Club.
