1. Tell us who you are and where you’re from.: We are Black Bart and we are from Ringwood near the New Forest. Our names are Simon, Rob, Pete and Sam

2. Describe your music.: Our music blends rock, country and blues to form a kind of Anglicana alloy

3. Tell us how the band formed in three sentences.: -We are all from the same town

-We all had musical interests that went beyond just “liking” albums or songs

-We were all part of an Amateur Dramatics group that was in its final days and we wanted to carry on performing in some way

4. What did you do before you were in a band?: We were in school or college

5. List the first CDs/records each of you bought.: Simon: Best of Elvis/Free Willy soundtrack (can’t remember which was first)
Pete: I remember the first three records I bought, The Verve, Urban Hymns, Space, Time Planet & Chemical Brothers, Hey By Hey Girl.
Sam: Born to Run Bruce Springsteen
Rob: Pulp Fiction soundtrack

6. What’s the band up to over the next few months?: We have a busy August of gigs and then we plan to push our new album as much as we can whilst continually working on our ever developing new material.

7. Best item of fan mail you’ve ever received?: Once recieved a lift home

8. What music do you have on repeat in the tourbus? : Nothing is on repeat as such as we don’t in fact have a tourbus but if we did I reckon we would shuffle.

9. What gear do you use?: Simon: Takamine Acoustic guitar/Fender Telecaster through a Marshall amp
Pete: Fender Jazz Bass and Roland Bass Cube, occasionally with a “Dirty” Rat bass pedal.
Sam: DW drumkit and very occasionally the Bodhran
Rob: Fender Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster through a Beringer Amp and very occasionally banjo, mandolin, lapsteel and acoustic guitar

10. What’s your best on-tour story?: We had a great game of hide and seek in a service station on the M6 once…

11. What do you demand on your rider?: Well a rider is a luxury that we rarely encounter. On those occasions it’s been water, fruit salad, beer and good luck

12. What’s your website?: http://www.blackbart.co.uk
