INTERVIEW: FoBD

1. Tell us who you are and where you’re from.
Born out of the depleting industrial settlement of Ebbw Vale, South Wales, UK. FoBD have had the pleasure of sharing the Stage with great bands such as ONSLAUGHT, PANIC CELL, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED, SACRED MOTHER TONGUE, TED MAUL, THE DEFILED plus many more upcoming Bands.

Members:
· Gavin Robinson – Vocals
· Matt Hall – Guitar
· Mark Tranter – Guitar
· Shane Childs – Bass
· Shaun Hodson – Drums

2. Describe your music.
FoBD have been described as DOMINENT and ANTHEMIC. The songs are the sound of pain, regret, disappointment and the fear of what the future will bring us. FoBD inject each tune with Hope and Exhilaration. Alternative-melodic-thrash-rock-metal without the limits of a scene.

3. Tell us how the band formed in three sentences.
i. Pure love of a wide range of music made us want to form a band where we could combine anything we wanted without limits or trends.
ii. A lot of drunken promises.
iii. Tidydarts

4. What did you do before you were in a band?
All of us have always been in bands in one form or another. It’s hard to think of anything before.

5. List the first CDs/records each of you bought.
Gav – Jimi Hendrix – The Ultimate Experience, Nirvana – Incesticide, Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time, Motorhead – Ironfist

10. What’s your best on-tour story?
We were booked for a Beer and Real Ale festival. We thought awesome, play an open-air event and all the real ale you could drink. We turned up outside the event and on the Sign read ‘Real Ale Festival – Bouncy Castle, Donkey Rides and Live Entertainment’. Matt and Mark went to get some food and ended up getting attacked by a horde of geese. The Venue was surprised to hear that we didn’t bring a backing tape, so there was a mad dash to get a drum kit. Gavin had to apologise after every song because the Donkeys were getting scared and the kids were crying on the Bouncy Castle. It was a tough gig at the time, but the memories of it now always make us LOL.

11. What do you demand on your rider?
Beer no one else likes or would ever think of drinking.

12. What’s your website?
www.myspace.com/fobd
