1. Tell us who you are and where you’re from.: Milky: We are Muchuu. We are Milky and George and we’re from a village called Tillington in the Herefordshire countryside.
George: Amen to that.

2. Describe your music.: Milky: Ummmm in 4 words, magical electronic experimental pop!
George: Milky attempts to describe it but really it’s humanly impossible. It’s weird in that way.

3. Tell us how the band formed in three sentences.: Milky: We are brother and sister. We were bored one day. We headed for the garage and made some music.
George: Now the garage is a studio. Yes. Yes.

4. What did you do before you were in a band?: George: I went through the usual education. And I enjoyed it, which is beautifully un-cliché. I also did my stint washing up in a pub, classic. Now Muchuu is my uni.
Milky: I did a few random things. Went to art college then dropped out because I was super self conscious. Then worked as a house cleaner. Then worked in an office photocopying and all that jazz. Also worked in a toy shop and a clothes shop and a health food shop. And trained in holistic therapies. The usual!

5. List the first CDs/records each of you bought.: George: I think I bought ‘Now That’s What I Call Music 32’. Probably the best compilation to date. Also listened to a lot of Louis Jordan at a young age. Very obscure.
Milky: I’m pretty sure it was Britney Spears ‘Hit Me Baby’ on cassette, and Spice Girls and Hanson on CD! Such mature taste in music I had! The first tapes I was obsessed with though were random stuff I’d find in the draw at home, and I’d listen to a selection of harp music, Enya, Bob Marley and Ella Fitzgerald!

6. What’s the band up to over the next few months?: Milky: Festivals mainly, couple of local festivals, and Bestival and Jersey Live. Looking forward to those, singing in the open air is rather nice. Our debut album ‘Adventure We Go’ is out now online and will hopefully be out in the shops September-ish time. We’ve been writing some new songs too, which is loads of fun and probably my favourite thing about being in a band…coming up with new ideas and hearing it when it’s all finished. Satisfying!
George: Yeah, but apart from that who knows what the future holds in its giant hands of time.

7. Best item of fan mail you’ve ever received?: Milky: We’ve had some really lovely hand made cards and letters from people. Last week a little girl drew a picture of us and wrote some really lovely words saying how she went into a happy place called Muchuu World when she listened to our music. It made me so happy!! We also got an email from a fan in Japan and I’ve been chatting with her and she sent us a photo of her holding the album and a poster saying ‘I love Muchuu’!

8. What music do you have on repeat in the tourbus? : Milky: I don’t really listen to much music actually. I play sudoku or on my gameboy or just share my boyfriends ipod if he’s travelling with us. We do enjoy the odd drawing game too!
George: Drawing games are awesome. Driving back from gigs at early hours of the morning and listening to obscure radio stations is normally very interesting – terrifying opera and baroque style harpsichord medleys. Always makes the journey fun.

9. What gear do you use?: George: I play a Roland synth, and another big Roland keyboard. It’s portable apparently; if you’re a human crane.
Milky: I sing and use an effects box now and then with an auto-tune effect, but I don’t over do it! I also play the glockenspiel and penny whistle and a little scraper thing, but I can’t play anything too complex!

10. What’s your best on-tour story?: George: Just before we were meant to play once, we were demanded to show ID at the venue before we could go in, even though we were on the bill and had already set up on stage. I didn’t have any on me. Very strange.
Milky: I can only really think of the time when I kicked a massive foam squirrels head into the crowd, and it kind of ended up hitting a girl in the face. Oh dear! It was our first ever gig and I wanted to do something memorable and I guess it worked but I felt so so bad after! It was far too rebellious for me!

11. What do you demand on your rider?: Milky: We just go with anything, not fussy. I think we may have put sushi down because I don’t usually eat bread and sushi is yummy, but we’re not really that bothered!
George: Yeah, the whole pretentious rider thing is so pointless! I simply demand that we have someone flown to Africa and dig a well for the villagers. Awesome.

12. What’s your website?: http://www.muchuumusic.com/
