INTERVIEW: The Boy Who Trapped The Sun

RHV: Tell us who you are and where you're from?.
My name is Colin David Macleod and I come from the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.

RHV: Describe your music.

RHV: Tell us how the band formed in three sentences.
I told myself I should write songs so I did. I gave myself a band name cos I thought it would be funny. Thats it.

RHV: What did you do before you were in a band?
I used to help people catch salmon on an estate. I rowed them around a Loch and showed them how to fish, that sort of thing. It was fun.

RHV: List the first CDs/records each of you bought.
Stereophonics 'performance and cocktails' and the Prodigy 'music for the jilted generation'

RHV: What's the band up to over the next few months?
Album's coming out and playing some festivals, then hopefully a tour in the autumn.

RHV: Best item of fan mail you've ever received?
Never had fan mail. Do fans still write letters? I thought it was all facebook stalking now... I cant keep up.

RHV: What music do you have on repeat in the tourbus?
We have the human jukebox. Our tour manager Iain has a great internal jukebox, every so often he belts out a classic pop hit. Its much better than real music.

RHV: What gear do you use?
Martin acoustics through a Vox AC30 and a Marshall Acoustic amp, Neumann mic and marine band harmonicas.

RHV: What's your best on tour story?
All good tour stories are inherently criminal, but I think the one of the best was at the Boardmasters festival in Cornwall, on the dodgems with my pals late on in the day after many many jagerbombs clutching a loaded BB gun. That was a whole heap of fun.

RHV: What do you demand on your rider?
Socks, a large bottle of methylated spirits, dorritos, fire(any kind will do), one christmas tree(undecorated), ketamine, 4 bottles of Laphroaig Single Malt and one bottle of water.

RHV: What's your website?
