Amor de Días

Blending chamber pop with the bossa-nova of Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso and a hefty dose of psychedelic folk, the London-based duo, consisting of Alasdair MacLean of the Clientele and Lupe Núñez-Fernández of Pipas, have created a wonderfully, textured and varied record – with the help of friends such as Damon and Naomi, Gary Olsen (from The Ladybug Transistor), Louis Phillippe as well as luscious horns and strings. Receiving rapturous reviews Stateside with the release of their album on Merge Records (home of Arcade Fire and Superchunk), they release their album, Street of the Love of Days, in the UK in June on their own Porcini Records.

Here is the new video for the song ‘Late Mornings’:

Their US label Merge is also streaming the album on their site for a limited time, so you can have a listen to the whole thing here:

After a long US tour with Damon and Naomi this month, Amor de Días will be back in the UK for shows including a support slot for Howe Gelb at the Union Chapel, a record launch show at the Lexington and an appearance at the Indietracks Festival.

Sat 8 June, Union Chapel, opening for Howe Gelb with A Band of Gypsies

Sun 12 June @ The Lexington, London (afternoon album launch, free)

Fri 17 June @ Scandinavian Church, Liverpool

Sat 30 July, Indietracks, (near Derby)
