Andy Lucas releases his debut album “Weekend Millionaire” on Glasgow label Crimp Records. The album is lyrically dark, self deprecating, and slightly schizophrenic, but is delivered with Andy’s wry humour.

Having been a session pianist and working musician for several years, Andy has stepped out of the shadows and put together an album full of tales we can all at times empathise with, looking at various situations in life through many different eyes. With swirling arrangements and picture postcard storyboards of small town life, album that deserves your attention for it’s clever, catchy and witty content, brought to life in Andy’s own unique way.

Andy learnt piano at an early age after being inspired by the records of Randy Newman, Elton John and Tom Waits he heard as a child.

He has worked as a professional piano player throughout Scotland for the past 10 years, developing his style and songwriting. Andy has played with established musicians such as Esther O’Connor, JJ Gilmour (The Silencers), Graham Duffin (Wet Wet Wet), Nate James, and supported Ocean Colour Scene, Beverley Knight, 10CC and Amy MacDonald. He has also appeared and performed on STV and the BBC as a session musician.

Currently touring the UK performing tracks from the album, Andy also plays around Scotland with his band Andy Lucas and The Crimps, the band that has recently supported Sir Paul McCartney’s son James McCartney.
