Arcade Fire’s Glasto performance drives Napster listens

Napster revealed the value of the prestigious headline slot at Glastonbury, as it announced an increase of over 40% in streaming figures for Arcade Fire, following their Pyramid Stage performance on Friday night.

Music streaming service Napster compared the number of plays over the Glastonbury week (June 22nd – June 28th) with the equivalent week in January (Jan 22nd – Jan 28th) this year.

The top ten Arcade Fire tracks over the Glastonbury week were:
Reflektor (Reflektor)
We Exist (Reflektor)
Afterlife (Reflektor)
Here Comes The Night Time (Reflektor)
Flashbulb Eyes (Reflektor)
Keep The Car Running (Neon Bible)
Neighborhood #1 (Funeral)
Joan Of Arc (Reflektor)
Normal Person (Reflektor)
Here Comes The Night Time II (Reflektor)

Ian Greaves from Napster UK said: “Glastonbury gets mainstream attention like no other festival – from the announcement of acts to live reviews. This means that whether you’re lucky enough to be there or not it’s a great time to discover something new. Arcade Fire were already huge, the fact that listening went up so much around their headline slot without a new album release shows the power of Glastonbury. In January the band’s whole top 10 were from Reflektor, so it’s interesting that with the increased attention from Galstonbury, their older albums became really popular again.”
