WITNESS THE FALL
New EP in March, with extensive touring to follow…
Witness the Fall were formed in 2007 in the speck of a town called Dumfries in Scotland. Comprised of Dikie (Drums), Jason McEwan (Bass), Chris Kelsall & Tony Mitchell (Guitars), and Richard Nelson (Vocals), Witness the Fall were spawned from a small local scene. Tired of bands who made music that simply towed the line, they formed to create something extreme, uncompromising, and brutally honest. With their eclectic leanings towards alternative, extreme metal and even hiphop, the band draw inspiration from a range of influences, finally resting on a sound in line with Killswitch Engage, Trivium, and Arch Enemy.
Their debut EP, which was recorded on a shoestring budget (and with a couple band members who’ve since drifted away), granted them a name and a following, aided by gigging throughout Scotland and the North of England. Playing with the likes of The Casino Brawl, Seven Year Kismet, Scar my Eyes, and Horizons, they won some local Tough Guy Music awards, and an honourable mention in Metal Hammer.
In February 2010, the band headed back into the studio for an intense eight days to record their sophomore self-titled EP at Valvetone Studios. Their newest EP takes off at breakneck pace with frantic drumming that buries itself deep within your eardrums. Packing six songs heavy with throbbing vocals, intricately woven guitar work, and steady melodies reminiscent of a more searing and abrasive Bullet For My Valentine, they have produced a super charged and blistering slice of brutality that is sonic aggression personified.
