Eden and Velocity Recordings introduce their new band – The Neon Mile

We have included a link to the preview of debut single WEIGHT IN GOLD which is released on Velocity Recordings on 27th June 2011.

LINK TO PREVIEW of Weight in Gold –

Summer is coming (at last) and the seaside is calling.
It’s time to head to Bournemouth, where Velocity Recordings will introduce you to the wonderful, uniquely British band that are THE NEON MILE.

Only a British seaside town like Bournemouth could produce a musical collective such as THE NEON MILE.
Isolated from the influence of London, cut off from the heart of the city and yet free to express themselves as they please, the band grew up with a love for Bournemouth but also a desperate desire to make their mark further afield. Holed up in their own studio just a shiny-pebble’s throw from the sea, with the sound of the ocean waves sighing softly through their open windows, the four-piece have been writing and recording for the last year.

Weight In Gold is their first release.

It is quite simply a great British POP song, created by a great British band. The type of band that only Britain can produce.

Influenced more by Top shop than David Bowie. THE NEON MILE have no choice but to be exceptional. They are musicians not businessmen. They don’t give a damn about trends and market forces. They just play. Their sound is accessible and yet experimental; forward thinking and yet with subtle nods to the past.
It’s a sound that simply must be heard.

So welcome to THE NEON MILE. And welcome to their debut single Weight In Gold. It’s one hell of a fresh, summery debut.

The band will be gigging extensively from June 2011 in the run up to the release of their debut album in the Autumn.
