The 2011 Gaymers Camden Crawl, scheduled for Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May, will begin celebrating its 10th birthday early with the introduction of its ‘CC Tips’ series of gigs on 28th October.

On that same day at 9:00 am, discounted early bird weekend tickets for the festival will go on sale exclusively through The 2011 May Bank Holiday event will mark the tenth ever Crawl since its inception in 1995.

The Gaymers Camden Crawl will replace the festival’s annual new artist competition in favour of a monthly platform to support the freshest and most exciting British talent lauded by its panel of organisers. The new CC Tips events will take place on the last Thursday of every month at the legendary Bull & Gate in conjunction with Club Fandango. Recently given a massive facelift and re-launched for its 30th year as a new music venue in Camden, there couldn’t be an establishment more apt to showcase this series to the public.

Each of these gigs will feature three brand new artists alongside a special guest veteran of Crawls past. And, in keeping with the tradition of the festival, the line ups will feature an eclectic mix of music styles representing the best new talent breaking through in their genre. Set to release their first new single in over a year, ‘All Fall’, on 31st October, Teeside’s veteran favourites of Crawl’s past close the party with their explosive brand of adventurous, yet tuneful post-punk.

Ninja Tunes’ latest signing, DELS (aka Kieren Dickins) is currently recording his debut album with a star studded line up of cred collaborators, including Joe Goddard (Hot Chip), Micachu and Kwes. His experimental love of hip hop and electronica and omnipresent on recently released single debut ‘Shapeshifter’ and amazing live shows.

Their debut single was crowned Drowned In Sound’s Single Of The Week. The same week it’s B-side was Zane Lowe’s TOTW. Since then, childhood friends Marcus Efstatiou and Tom Havelock have not only been working hard on what’s sure to be an impressive album, but have made a lot of fans and friends in high place with their exhilarating live show.

John & Jehn have been impressing music fans and journalists with their brooding collection of sonic experiments and dark humour carried along by razor-sharp melody for the past couple of years. Much to our huge joy the French duo was able to make their Crawl debut this year.

A welcome newcomer to the London gig circuit, Martyna’s haunting acoustic soul is a mesmerising combination of voice, words and magical songwriting.

From the CC Tips series of shows which will take place in the run up to the 2011 Gaymers Camden Crawl, six of the most promising artists will be chosen to appear on the first ever CC Tips stage across both days of the event. Additionally, each of these new talents will be invited to leave a lasting legacy at the Crawl by recording a track to appear on the debut CC Tips 2011 album to be released at the festival in conjunction with Unit 13 Studios and Key Production.

Meanwhile, as tickets go on sale for the 2011 Gaymers Camden Crawl on 28th October, the organisers are amidst plans to top this year’s star studded line up which included such luminaries as Pendulum, The Drums, Plan B, Teenage Fanclub, We Are Scientists, Lostprophets, Roots Manuva, Lightspeed Champion and Gang of Four alongside more than 200 of the brightest new hopes from the UK and abroad across its 50 official Camden area venues.
