Killswitch Engage vocalist new project

Having made a name for himself in the metal realms through his work on the first two Killswitch Engage albums; vocalist Jesse Leach departed from the band a few weeks after the release of the band’s groundbreaking “Alive Or Just Breathing”. A year later he returned with the blues rock infused Seemless, who were sadly placed on hiatus in 2008. However, Jesse has now stepped back into the spotlight with his new outfit, The Empire Shall Fall.

Formed in late 2008 with Leach on vocals, backed by guitarists Jake Davenport and Marcus de Lisle, bassist Nick Sollecito, and drummer Jeff Pitt; TESF began working furiously to create their debut album “Awaken”. While many will aim to link the band back to KSE, many will be surprised that the RI 5 piece have in fact ventured further down the progressive path than any outfit Leach has laid his name to previously.

The likes of the lead album track’s off kilt rhythms and oceanic riffs, through to the gruff brutality of video track ‘Lords Of War’ and the emotive power of ‘These Colours Bleed’ are perfect slabs of thrash encrusted extremity, that hold enough musicality and raw power to appeal to fan’s of Leach’s previous projects whilst successfully converting new comers. Elsewhere the jazz-infused death metal-cum flamenco assault of ‘Choir Of Angels’ highlighting the bands flair for the progressive ad infinitum.

Bulging with fresh ideas, and combined with the technical chops and musical flair to pull it off, TESF stand as an enticing prospect to anyone who loves their metal slightly weird, tinted with progressive ideas and delivered with an enthusiasm that is second to none. And frankly, what more could you want?

On top of the release of their stunning debut album, the band will also have their new video for ‘Lords Of War’ available for website spots as of next week (W/S 22/03). Should you decide to feature the band and are seeking video content, it will be available for uploading.
