TENDER TRAP: Dansette, Dansette
Single 7” and download
1 November 2010 – Fortuna POP!

In June, Tender Trap released their third full-length album Dansette Dansette to much critical acclaim. Now Fortuna POP! is releasing the title track as a brand new single, due out on 1 November. The song showcases the bands’ passion for girl-group harmonies, with founding member and indie-icon Amelia Fletcher being joined by Elizabeth Morris from Allo Darlin’ on guitar/vocals and singing drummer Katrina Dixon. Bring on the “bah-bah-bahs”!

Amelia explains ‘Dansette, Dansette’: “It’s about listening to records, thinking they will provide the answers you need in your life. And then they don’t. It’s also about sixties girl groups, who didn’t write their own songs and therefore weren’t necessarily even purveying their own “wisdom”. The song is cynical of, but also very affectionate about, that whole genre.”

Their single “Do You Want A Boyfriend?” won Steve Lamacq’s rebel playlist on BBC 6 Music, they headlined the Saturday night at the Indietracks festival (where Amelia also joined previous collaborators The Pooh Sticks at their reunion performance) and received rapturous reviews from the likes of Mojo, Q and The Sunday Times. There’s also been a line-up change, with Elizabeth leaving to concentrate on her own band Allo Darlin’, although Betty and The Werewolves’ guitarist Emily Bennett has replaced her.

Live Dates:
14 November 2010 – London – Ladyfest
29 January 2011 – Paris – L’internationale
12 March 2011 – Madrid – POPFEST
