Philadelphia Grand Jury gigs and video!

The fifth instalment in the third year of limited 7” releases on the Too Pure Singles Club (borne from the ashes of the celebrated London indie label) sees the release of ‘The Good News’ from Philadelphia Grand Jury.

This will be the Australian trio’s first release in the UK, which falls amid a flurry of UK shows continuing into the summer. The chosen single, ‘The Good News’, was one of the most played on Australian independent radio in 2009 and similarly their debut album went to Number 1 in the Independent charts. The B-side is the infectious ‘Ready To Roll’. Never ones to shy away from mixing an array of musical styles, this 7” combines indie pop with a kicking of garage rock and a dose of soul thrown in for good measure.

Known for their (literally) explosive live show Philadelphia Grand Jury are, according to critics, a “must see before you die”. You can see their raucous live show at one of these venues:

Wed 19th May Sound City Festival, Liverpool
Sat 22nd May Notting Hill Arts Club, London
Thurs 3rd June Young & Lost Club, London
Sun 6th June Communion @ Notting Hill Arts Club
Sat 12th June Proud Galleries, London
Fri 18th June Flower Pot, Kentish Town
Sat 26th June 93 Ft East, London

Now in to its third year, the Too Pure Singles Club continues its run of a limited 7” every month with I Was A King, Esben And The Witch, JEFF The Brotherhood, Die! Die! Die! And Friendship already having released records this annum. You can join by subscription (for UK residents, it’s £35 and for the ROW, it’s £40) or buy the records in good indie stores while stocks last. More information can be found at www.toopure.com .
