Savoir Adore

Savoir Adore: ‘Bodies’ debut UK single 26th April and ‘In The Wooded Forest’ – UK album release 5th July (Cantora Records)

Even in a scene as vibrant as the current one in Brooklyn, Paul Hammer and Deidre Muro- the principal members of Savoir Adore bring something entirely unique and exciting to the table with their addictively lush slant on pop. As an experimental-pop collective, they paint songs with imagery and imagination while making fans out of the most cynical of critics.

Fresh from playing shows at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin, the duo are pleased to announce their debut UK single ‘Bodies’ 26th April via Cantora Records- the New York label who has helped launch MGMT, Violens, Francis and the Lights, Rumspringa and Bear Hands. With tribal drums and fantastical synths, ‘Bodies’ is a swooning, catchy track from their exuberant debut album In the Wooded Forest. The single will also feature remixes by French Horn Rebellion and Midnight Magic

In the Wooded Forest showcases the many strengths of this exciting, young band. With soaring melodies. Infectious beats- this album demands repeat listens and will have your friends asking “What is this?!” From the high-octane pop of “Bodies” to meditatively gorgeous closer “The Garden”, Savoir Adore display a potent combination of raw talent and musical maturity that is extremely rare in a debut release. With their unique blend of indie influences and infectious dance beats, its no wonder the group has garnered comparisons to such great artists as Phoenix, Jens Lekman and Bishop Allen.

Savoir Adore never imagined they would be getting so much attention, from either the blogosophere or A&R scouts. The band originated purely for fun in 2007, when the two multi-instrumentalist songwriters challenged each other to make a concept album in one weekend. This recording ended up being their first EP, The Adventures of Mr. Pumpernickel and the Girl with Animals in her Throat.

After their first foray in the studio, the duo continued to create music constantly. Their songwriting now seems inspired by the musical chemistry Muro and Hammer had upon meeting. According to Deidre, “having access to a studio workspace, surrounding ourselves with all kinds of instruments, a brand new collaborative partnership – all of these elements formed a basis of experimentation that became the essence of Savoir Adore.
