‘Sleep’ is the new single from Southampton based four-piece Thomas Tantrum and will be released on March 27th through new label Stranger Records. Having already impressed 6 Music and XFM and coming in at just under three minutes, ‘Sleep’ is a near perfect slice of breezy upbeat pop. Infectious to the max, it is an ideal antidote to the seemingly endless gloom of winter. It was produced by long time collaborator Rick MacNamara (ex Embrace) and mixed by Ash Howes (Ellie Goulding, Marina & The Diamonds, Eliza Doolittle, Devlin and Plan B).

Since the release of their critically acclaimed eponymous debut album and accompanying singles in 2008, the band has enlisted a new drummer Dave Wade Brown, who brought with him a different set of influences that have helped define a fresh new sound for the band. They have since been holed up writing and recording the new album, due for release this summer. Produced once more by Rick MacNamara (who produced the debut album) it sees a more mature sound for the band and gorgeous front woman Megan Thomas’ vocals in particular that have progressed from childlike shoutiness to more grown up, luscious tones.

In between that they managed to squeeze in a support tour with Band Of Skulls and some festival appearances including Truckfest and Offset. The band also recorded the Birdsong EP at Real World studios at the end of last year which they gave away to fans via their website. It is still available to download at www.thomastantrum.co.uk. They signed to new label Stranger Records in the autumn, ready to start the next chapter of the Thomas Tantrum story.
