Tom Mansi and the Icebreakers are back!

Tom Mansi and the Ice Breakers release their new single You Got Yourself on May 25th via Metric Acorn.

Unleashed and out of control doing what they want, how they want on their own terms and on their own record label “Metric Acorn Records” The new album, Perils A Plenty, has been recorded in their own studio with the help of legendary producer and mix engineer Tony Platt (AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Bob Marley…) and comes as a follow up to the successful debut of 2008s album “Love on the Rails” which featured the breakthrough single “Holly”, BBC Radio 2s Record of the Week.

Tom Mansi and the Icebreakers are Paul White on guitar, Alain Man on keys, James Johnston on drums and Tom Mansi slinging the upright bass and handling lead vocals. Having met many years ago while playing for a North London youth big band this quartet has played together in various jazz, boogie woogie and rock n roll groups ever since. While all four members have an extensive background working as session musicians, Mansi in particu-lar has developed a wealth of music and life experience playing gigs in theatre pits, jazz clubs and studio sessions for artists as diverse as the Sugababes and Coldcut.

More recently, Mansi joined Scottish folk legend Donovan and surreal filmmaker David Lynch on a US tour which intriguingly combined music with lectures on transcendental meditation and world peace. Since, Mansi and the band have been touring the UK and Germany supporting the likes of Son of Dave, The Sadies and The Heavy. Having made festival appearances at the Big Chill, Secret Gar-den Party, Llama Tree, and Glastonbury among others, the band has played more than 100 UK and European shows in 2008/2009. In 2010 the diary is filled with numerous festival and club dates throughout the UK and across Europe.

Tom Mansi and The Icebreakers are proud to present the first single from their new raw, hard hitting, rock „n roll monster album Perils A Plenty (scheduled for release October 2010). Punk energy, folk harmony and pop sensibility. Tom Mansi and the Icebreakers unmistakeable brand of Rock „n Roll distilled into 3 minutes of mayhem with Toms “Bastard lovechild of Little Richard and Tina Turner fostered by uncle Spring-steen” vocal and all the explosive power, energy and raw electricity of the Icebreakers. /
