Hailing from Chesterfield, North Derbyshire, Take The Seven are quickly making new friends and gaining widespread support by extensively touring throughout the heart of England. Although the promising five-piece were only officially spawned a year ago, they have already bagged profile shows with the likes of Senses Fail, Glamour Of The Kill, Failsafe, and My Passion, as well as recorded their explosive debut record ‘Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious’.
Taking cues from a variety of different quarters, Take The Seven have largely been encouraged by the likes of We Are The Ocean, The Blackout, Kids In Glass Houses and most notably, Funeral For A Friend. By refining and adding to their influences, Take The Seven have formed their own hearty beast, creating something that’s sincere and potently alluring. Now armed with an impressive collection of songs and a killer live set, the stage is primed for the lively quintet to release their anticipated debut mini-album ‘Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious’ and to carve their mark as one of the bands to break in 2012.
The band have sculpted a record that is a hefty slice of sturdy ferocious Alt-Rock. Nailed down at Vault Studio, Sheffield, and mastered by Carl Bown (Fightstar, Trivium) of Treehouse Studios, the cuts for ‘Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious’ are concise, contagious and colossal. From the infectious scatter gun riffs and soaring rhythm of ‘Welcome to My Town’ and the instantly enticing ‘Through The Crossfire’, through to the lush and supremely tuneful ‘History is Written By The Victors’, Take The Seven have without doubt crafted a debut record complete with thoughtful song structures, memorable hooks, and an unadulterated honesty that demands your attention!
