Urban Myth Club, Surrender

Urban Myth Club follow-up the commercial success and critical acclaim of their bestseller debut ‘Helium’ with their stunning new single Surrender, taken from the hotly anticipated new album Open Up, already being touted to follow the success of The xx at last year’s Mercury Prize and aiming the band directly at the Top 40 Official Chart.

The 2011 single Fragile featured on 6 Music, Q Radio, XFM and KissFM. Urban Myth Club co-creator Mark Desvaux was also invited on the music review panel for Victoria Derbyshire’s 5 Live show to mark the release of the single. Victoria liked the single and video so much Mark was installed as a regular review guest. The new album sees Urban Myth Club duo Mark Desvaux and producer/ samplist Ian Sanderson return with their intense electro beats and cinematic melodies fused with stunning female vocals. The album is predicted to follow in the footsteps of ‘Helium’ which has entered the sub-conscience of millions as a soundtrack for film and TV.

Vocals on Surrender are by MizAgata, an Amazonian Italian who takes you on a vocal ride of quivering highs and a shimmering chorus hook. All underpinned by the usual trademark Urban Myth Club style to create a single that could easily be the lovechild of Sigur Ros and Goldfrapp.

Urban Myth Club release their 2nd single or 2011 when they release Surrender on Jun 27th via TRL Music.
