Viktoria Modesta and Johnny Lazer‏

A musical collaboration between singer/songwriter, creative director Viktoria Modesta & co-writer/musician/producer Nik Hodges – formed in 2009.

They had their debut performance on CHANNEL 4’s Evo Music Rooms as one of 6 Best Unsigned music acts in UK chosen from thousands.

Their unique sound evokes contrasting tastes such as the sultry electro sophistication of Goldfrapp & Portishead, the rock pop attitude of Gwen Stefani’s No Doubt, the sexy urban edge of Rihanna & M.I.A, and even the raw rock n roll swagger of a female Elvis!

Performing live Viktoria becomes a captivating showgirl and electro fashion diva, with magnetic stage presence, strong eccentric vocals and glamorous star quality.
Viktoria’s dramatic look fuses cutting edge fashion couture, sexy vintage glamour and a fierce alternative edge that is 100% authentic and her own unique creation. A rising star of London’s fashion & underground club scenes she is very much creative pioneer and trend setter and has already established a successful career as model, muse, alternative Icon and stylist.

She has already achieved a global fan base after repeatedly being cover girl and featured story of cult magazine Bizarre & glossy fetish bible Skin Two, as well as being house model on tour with the worlds most famous fetish club Torture Garden. Whilst other diverse credits include featured model for national Samsung & Vodafone campaigns, co-hosting the Kerrang awards, appearing in pop videos for Paloma Faith, Mutia Bueno & Peaches, and also starring on the catwalk at London Fashion Week for designers Ziad Ghanem & Ada Zanditon.

Born as a Russian speaking Latvian that moved to London aged 12, Viktoria’s early life of adversity and extreme challenges made her even stronger and determined to succeed against all the odds and make her dreams come true. Her fairy tale story has already been an inspiration to many, but for Viktoria Modesta it is only the beginning…

Viktoria will be appearing at 299 [Venue 2] on Thursday 27th May alongside the fantastic

While the music industry seeks small-town indie grumblers with a social observation of dead-end jobs or sexes up another batch of tweenies to give The X Factor a run for its money, London living Johnny Lazer and Laura Fares throw down the space-age pop gauntlet and dare you to think…

A Shampoo meets Billy Idol down the underage disco (‘Bad Boyfriend’), the glittery snap of Adam ant vs Justice (‘Take My Picture’) mingling with the haunting sounds of British electro via Soft Cell/Frankie Goes To Hollywood (‘Time Kills’), yet all overlaid with Johnny Lazer and paul gala’s indomitable unique style and eye-catching visage.

With magazines and blogs such as Disorder Magazine, Wonderland and Pop Justice already turning up the ghetto blaster in honour of Johnny Lazer isn’t it time you were joining in the party?
