Angelus Apatrida – Clockwork

NAME: Angelus Apatrida
ALBUM: Clockwork
DATE: 21June2010

LABEL: Century Media

RATING: 2/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Enthusiastic, youthful but unoriginal metal.

LOCATION: Spain

LINE UP: Guillermo Izquierdo (Lead Guitars, Lead Vocals), David G. Alvarez (Lead guitars), Jose Izquierdo (Bass), Victor Valera – (Drums)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Described as ‘The most promising and threatening Metal band from Spain’, it’s hard to know whether or not this is a bold claim or a clever marketing ploy, how many Spanish thrash metal bands do you know of? Nevertheless the band’s sound is full of enthusiasm and will no doubt delight fans of the genre, but is very unlikely to convert. If you hated metal before hearing this album, you’ll still hate it after.

SOUNDS LIKE: Adhering to the genre as a whole, but breaking the mould when you look at their rural Spanish upbringing.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: You like thrash metal, plain and simple.
