Black Soul Strangers – The Haunting

NAME: Black Soul Strangers
SINGLE: The Haunting
YEAR: 2010 March 14th
LABEL: Squeek Records

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Gay Boy Band From Ireland

LOCATION: Dublin, Ireland

LINE UP: Barry Gorey (vocals/guitar) / Philip Wyer (guitars) / James O’Brien (bass) / Brendan O’Mahony (drums)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: They grew up together and had nothing better to do than play in a band. Then the father of lead singer, Barry Gorey passed away and they started writing morbid songs.

SOUNDS LIKE: They’re trying to implant themselves in the mould of atmospheric masters like Slowdive, but failing miserably.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU : don’t have a life. Or Snow Patrol, Elbow, Embrace and all the other woeful shoegaze homos you’re likely to hear on the radio.
