NAME: Casanatra
ALBUM: Split the Atom Again
DATE: 20September2010
LABEL: Blue Worm Records
RATING: 1/5
FIVE WORD REVIEW: Split the atom…or not
LOCATION: Minneaplois, USA
LINE UP: Dennis Asher (Vocals/Guitar) , Lance Reed (Drums/Samples) , Jer Fink (Guitar/Vocals) ,Brett Johnson (Bass Vocals)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Picking up from where Linkin Park left off in terms of hideous atonal harmonies and repetitive drum beats Casanatra’s fourth studio album feels long…very very long, and the expression ‘all killer no filler’ does not apply. One song bleeds into the next to create one giant piece of boring alt-rock. With a title as boastful as ‘Split the Atom Again’ you’ll might be expecting something ground-breaking, if so prepare to be disappointed.
SOUNDS LIKE: Though I’m sure Casanatra fans would not be happy with this comparison, there is a something reminiscent of Maroon 5 in the vocals… but there are much more respectable echoes to be found on the album too: a bit Queens of the Stoneage and a tiny morsel of Nick Cave’s rockier moments too, it’s a shame the quality of the tunes doesn’t match up to the quality of the influences.
YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: If you like your alt-rock repetitive, durgy, lyrically predictable.
