Cymbals Eat Guitars – Wind Pheonix

NAME: Cymbals Eat Guitars
SINGLE: Wind Pheonix
YEAR: 2010
LABEL: Memphis Industries
RATING: 2/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: I would rather eat myself

LOCATION: New York, USA

LINE UP: Joseph Ferocious (vocals, guitars) / Matthew Whipple (bass) / Matthew Miller (drums + percussion), Brian Hamilton (Keyboard)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Formed in spring 2008, Cymbals Eat Guitars have had a meteoric rise with their first album Why There Are Mountains gaining critical acclaim – but it should be added by the likes of Pitchfork Media, NME etc…none of whose word you can trust.

SOUNDS LIKE: the usual boring shit, though fleetingly Wind Phoenix does spill into what sounds like Sebadoh – until they start singing then you cringe again!

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: commercial indie crap.
