WHAT’S THE STORY?: As a compilation of singles, you couldn’t ask for more. Four excellent tracks whose innovation and quality shine brightly enough for each of these tracks to stand alone. The fact that they come together is a bonus.
SOUNDS LIKE: a mishmash of styles from a single label. Chickenhawk seem one of the few bands with enough innovation to bridge the gap between indie and metal, Esben and The Witch demonstrate their skill with the cosmic needle and thread as they weave ambient soundscapes, Olfar’s ‘Husk’ is varnished by an innocence found in such bands as The Arcade Fire. Airship finish the release with a delicate yet driving song that
YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: indie, as it is the one thing that all the bands on this release have in common, but if you enjoy mass diversity on a single release you will probably enjoy this one even more.
