NAME: Dinosaur Pile Up
SINGLE: Birds and Planes
DATE: 26July2010
LABEL: Friends Vs Records
RATING: 5/5
FIVE WORD REVIEW: Bright young Brit band excite
LOCATION: London, England
LINE UP: Matt Bigland (Vocals/Guitar), Harry Johns (Vocals/Guitar), Mike Shiels (Drums)
WHAT’S THE STORY?: Dinosaur Pile Up keep it simple on their debut single ‘Birds and Planes’ going for straight up rock n roll with a touch of swagger to it. Right from the first second ‘Birds..’ sucks you right with its youthful charge of driving guitars and soaring vocals from Matt Bigland. The nearest comparison on first listen is to ‘Breakout’ by the Foo Fighters, as it keeps its rock principles but also allows itself to be catchy and will definitely have you humming it in no time. The album isn’t due out until September, but Dinosaur Pile Up could be the Tyrannosaurus Rex of British Rock if they carry on like this.
SOUNDS LIKE: British version of the Foo Fighters
YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: you’re a fan of Foo Fighters, up tempo Feeder and rock n roll in general.
