Dog Is Dead – Glockenspiel Song

NAME: Dog Is Dead
SINGLE: Glockenspiel Song
DATE: 7June2010

LABEL: Your Childhood Records

RATING: 4/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: A song for the summer

LOCATION: London

LINE UP: Joss Van Wilder, Robert Milton, Lawrence Libor, Trev, Paul Roberts

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Ah, a song for the summer. The Glockenspiel Song is really good: laid-back, great melodies, nice instrumentation, lovely vocals. This is perfect music to have a barbeque to, getting through a few beers and trying not to reduce the sausages to charcoal. There are a few sixties elements mixed into this enjoyable modern rocky-pop, but the best bit is the eighties style sax which doesn’t seem at all cheesy or out of place. That’s quite an achievement. It’s uplifting stuff, and really enjoyable. It’ll definitely be interesting to see what Dog Is Dead comes up with next.

SOUNDS LIKE: sixties stuff but done in a nice modern way. And surprising instrumentation.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: you love to relax.
