Flood Of Red – Leave Everything Behind

NAME: Flood Of Red
ALBUM : Leave Everything Behind
YEAR: 2009 (October 19th)
LABEL: Dark City
RATING: 5/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Hard rock with tender glow

LOCATION: Glasgow, Scotland

LINE UP: Jordan Spiers (vocals) / Sean McGroaty (guitars) / Calum Doris (guitars, vocals) / Jamie McGowan (bass) / Dale Gallacher (keyboard) / Graham Griffith (drums)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: ‘Leave Everything Behind’ is an album plugged and promoted by the band members, requiring the creation of their own label to do so. Produced by legendary punk producer Brian McTernan, the sound is crisp and clear, and should be received well. Fans of softer emo and metal will adore this album, but its influence will certainly reach far beyond fans of the genre.

SOUNDS LIKE: the archetypal chassis of many a screamo band has been twisted and contorted into something much more sincere and delicate, and draped with the tender, region-tinted musings of the vocalist.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: compelling music sometimes reined in by a love for soundscapes.
