Francesqa – We Lived

NAME: Francesqa
EP: We Lived
DATE: 19July2010

LABEL: Unsigned

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Finally, credible British pop punk.

LOCATION: Oxfordshire

LINE UP: Ashley Wilkie (Vocals), Benjamin Hordos (Bass), Tom Millar (Guitar), Warren Senior (Drums), Joe Hicks (Guitar).

WHAT’S THE STORY?: After impressing audiences and music aficionados (Blink’s Tom DeLonge to name but one) with their demos and opening slot at the Slam Dunk Festival, Francesqa’s debut EP has a reputation to live up to. And live up it does, the opening track ‘Ghosts’ has all the pop credentials of a Panic at The Disco single, but without the obligatory cheese you’d find there. Second track Hopeful is a little monotonous and shows less promise than the other far more than impressive tracks, but hey, four out of five aint bad.

SOUNDS LIKE: An almost perfect mixture of Coheed and Cambria, Blink 182, Panic At The Disco and Brand New.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: If you like a bit of respectable pop with your punk, and only the slightest hint of emo.
