Fun. – Walking The Dog/ Be Calm

NAME: Fun.
SINGLE: Walking The Dog/ Be Calm
YEAR: 2010 (March 29th)
LABEL: Friends Vs Records
RATING: 5/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Loveable, talented and, well, fun.

LOCATION: New York, New York

LINE UP: Nate Ruess / Jack Antonoff / Andrew Dost. /

WHAT’S THE STORY?: This double A-side debut introduces a band who are so close to prefect it’s scary. Fun. Present two songs that despite their seeming differences, compliment each other beautifully. ‘Walking the Dog’ is a perfect summer BBQ, good friends, cold beer track and ‘Be Calm’ is ideal motivational music recommended for the car before another crappy day at the office. Both songs would be perfectly at home in any self-respecting indie disco. If these two tracks don’t make you want to buy the album and be best mates with the boys from fun., nothing will.

SOUNDS LIKE: A less samey Vampire Weekend, a less stoned MGMT.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: Charming vocals, Pretty string arrangements, New York guitars, and fun in all of its manifestations.
