Heights
 – The Land, The Ocean, The Distance

NAME: Heights

EP: The Land, The Ocean, The Distance
YEAR: 2009 (September 21)
LABEL:
N/A
RATING: 3/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Hardcore 101 from UK newbies

LOCATION: Welwyn Garden City, UK

LINE UP: Thomas Debeare (vocals) / Dean Richardson (guitar) / Tom Green (guitar) / Andrew Moulder (bass) / Tom Hutton (drums)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Five more lads with low cut V-neck T-shirts and and a love of hardcore get together and start recording tunes. Formed in 2009, Heights have been quick to start touring and have been “throwing everything they have at every show.” At least that’s what their press release says.

SOUNDS LIKE: All the other hardcore bands coming out of the UK. That said, the last track on this debut effort promises bigger and better things to come. The last few minutes just about manage to be anthemic and certainly made me pay attention, only for a few minutes though.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: If you liked The Lost Prophets better before they started going to H&M.
