WHAT’S THE STORY?: Holy Coves try their utmost to capture an intriguing alternative rock sound with this release, and the final product is a quite promising sign of things to come.

The disc’s opener `Let’s Go’ has a sound that is reminiscent of The Subways and will definitely appeal to the nation’s NME loyalists, while `What’s Happened To You Has Happened To Me’ is akin to a melancholic Oasis.

`Droner’ is the release’s standout track, as the band harness an impressive Smashing Pumpkins sound. The vocals understandably do not match up to the almighty Billy Corgan’s, yet all of the Pumpkins’ other elements are there in full force.

SOUNDS LIKE: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Smashing Pumpkins.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: “grungie” (the amalgamation of grunge and indie) is your fantasy genre.
