Jim Croft – One Sees the Sun

NAME: Jim Croft
SINGLE: One Sees the Sun
YEAR: 2010 (4th April)
LABEL:
RATING: 4/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Some well crafted acoustic rock

LOCATION: Berlin, Germany

LINE UP: Jim Croft

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Jim Croft, hailing from Germany, provides us here with ‘One Sees The Sun’, a single from his album ‘Between The Devil and the Deep Blue See’. It’s a well produced, excellently composed song with a great feel good factor. Similarities with Crowded House can be heard with cheery guitar riffs and Finn-esque harmonies which also nod towards Simon & Garkunkel. B-side ‘Birthrights’ continues the trend and is a great bonus with some nice backing vocals and a great rhythm throughout. Although Jim’s voice isn’t the greatest, he has the lyrics and music here to back him up and put it up there with anything that is out at the moment. Well worth a listen.

SOUNDS LIKE: Crowded House, Simon & Garfunkel,
