Kid Adrift – Oxytocin

NAME: Kid Adrift
EP: Oxytocin
DATE: 12July2010

LABEL: Island

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Slightly repetitive but still lovely.

LOCATION: Glasgow / London, UK

LINE UP: Iain Archer (everything)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Lots of wicked cool (not as wicked cool as RHV) types are currently word-wanking over Kid Adrift at the moment, and the ‘Oxytocin’ EP give an hint at the reasons.

SOUNDS LIKE: Generous helpings of lush synth-pop done right. Kid Adrift supplies big, atmospheric walls of synth splattered with sporadic vocals. RHV endorses a bit of Kid Adrift on t’pod and a Margarita in the sunshine. Hello summer.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: Aphex Twin sans drugs.
