WHAT’S THE STORY?: Loadstar is the conmeglorate representing the merging of talents of dancehall duo Xample and Lomax. Their new single ‘Link to the Past/Rapidas’ is out now.

SOUNDS LIKE: ‘Link to the Past’ gets us in with a good epic sounding intro, invested in midi-esque keys and hollow, industrial sounding guitars, which gradually accelerates into some traditional grimy dance. It’s dark and pretty menacing and continues ad nauseum.

Track two’s ‘Rapidas’ is more or less similar, with a slightly jinglier, more energetic vibe. It’s also got some industry pattern lyrics randomly inserted to mark track progression, as is dance-hall standard.

If you need some filler on your ‘driving at night compilation cd’, you’re in for a treat , but ultimately you’re left feeling ‘Link to the Past’ was much better on the Snes.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: you need to fill space on a playlist real quick
