WHAT’S THE STORY?: A talented artist, Maia started performing on piano, guitar and saxophone in her teens and achieved radio airplay with the albums ‘Hardly Glamour’ (1997) and the self entitled ‘Maia Sharp’ (2002).

Maia delivers a punchy, vibrant exploration of a relationship gone bad on ‘Whole Flat World.’ It offers a different take on a subject matter where so many other artists opt for a mundane, sombre feel. The song is a reflective piece that is carried along with a bouncy, polished arrangement, busy drums, solid backing vocals and Sharp’s dulcet tones. With lyrics such “Had everything I wanted before I knew what I could want” her ability as a songwriter has never been in doubt. However, it is a song that has been based on Sharp’s own personal experience and that gives it an even more rounded and balanced appeal.
