NAME: Moneen
ALBUM: The World I Want To Leave Behind
YEAR: 2010 (April 5th)
LABEL: Vagrant
RATING: 2/5
FIVE WORD REVIEW: Good guitars, too much moaning.
LOCATION: Brampton, Ontario
LINE UP: Kenny Bridges (vocals and guitar) / Erik Hughes (vocals and bass) / Hippy Hughes (vocals and guitar) / Steve Nunnaro (drums)
WHAT’S THE STORY?: ‘The World I Want to Leave Behind’ gets off to a promising start. The opening title track is short, sharp and solid. But as the album progresses, despite some impressive guitar moments, the mopey lyrics seem somewhat juvenile for the fourth full length offering from such an established band.
SOUNDS LIKE: Teenage angst for thirty somethings.
