My Little Pony play the hits of…My Little Pony

NAME: My Little Pony
ALBUM: My Little Pony play the hits of…My Little Pony
YEAR: 2010
LABEL: Lazy Acre Records

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Happy-go-lucky, sunset tinged plinky pop.

LOCATION: Oslo, Norway

LINE UP: A ten-strong troupe of Norwegian guys and gals, with a look that’d make the effortlessly cool who’re papped for ‘Style Hunter’ pages jealous.

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Believe it or not, from what we can gather at least, nothing linked to equestrian fetishes – toys or otherwise. Forming two(ish) years ago, these guys have since played over 120 shows in ten different countries, released an EP and an album.

SOUNDS LIKE: Americana Indie Pop without the redneck interjections. This EP is a brilliant collection of twee, smile-inducing tracks containing lyrical wit that your Mum won’t be offended by.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: Rilo Kiley, or any of their spin-off bands such as Jenny Lewis herself or The Departed.
