no-man – wherever there is light

NAME: no-man
EP: wherever there is light
YEAR: 2009
LABEL: K-Scope
RATING: 4/5

LOCATION: UK

TRACK LISTING: wherever there is light / death was california / counting / carolina skeletons (live) / all the blue changes (live) / wherever there is light (video) / all the blue changes (live at bush hall 29/08/08)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Formed back in 1987, this duo is comprised of Porupine Tree’s Steve Wilson and vocalist Tim Bowness. This EP is a stop gap release between last year’s ‘Schoolyard Ghosts’ and their forthcoming live DVD release ‘Mixtaped’.

SOUNDS LIKE: pure emotive thoughtfulness. If wonderment, melancholy and reflection all sat down in a quiet room, consumed some introspective drugs, reached sublimity and conveniently had a tape recorder going in the background, this is the product.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: carefully created melodies and lyrics which you swear are about your last weekend.
