Sharp Practise – Banging The Rocks

NAME: Sharp Practise
ALBUM: Banging The Rocks
YEAR: 2010 (May 24th)
LABEL: Ryeharbour
RATING: 3/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Classic rock for all ages.

LOCATION: Manchester, UK

LINE UP: Nigel Clothier (vocals) / Simon Foley (guitar) / Ryan Lawson (bass) / Michael Elwood (drums)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Ten years and still going strong, Sharp Practise have conjoured another melodic and simple album that’d easily sit alongside most MOR rock albums of the last decade. It’s constantly chipper, catchy, uplifting, conscientious (songs cover the environment, growing up, and even European history) with light touches, wit and summery sounds of a tight and smiling band. Basically a collection of straight, honest songs, it’s inoffensive and would supplement any colourful cocktail or flowery shirt.

SOUNDS LIKE: the perfect family barbeque album.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: nice pop tunes that make you think and force a smile.
