Sound of Guns – What Came From Fire

NAME: Sound of Guns
ALBUM: What Came From Fire
DATE: 28June2010

LABEL: Distiller Records

RATING: 3/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Indie meets American teen punk

LOCATION: Liverpool

LINE UP: Andy (Vocals) / Lee (guitar) / Nathan (guitar) / John (Bass) / Si (Drums)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: Rated by many “leading” industry figures, Sound of Guns are set to continue their rising career with the release of their debut album. It’s one of those “love it or hate it” LPs; incredibly anthemic and cheesier than a cheese sandwich with extra corn. Nonetheless, most the tracks on this album are well written, solid and entertaining.

SOUNDS LIKE: Fall Out Boy, Kings of Leon, teenagers in baggy clothes at a skate park, the charts

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: Anthemic indie rock with a lot of production values: basically anything that has been released in the last 10 years that has been shoved down the consumers’ throats by Universal and Sony BMG.
