We Rock Like Girls Don’t – Welcome To My World/Feeling Lonely Now

NAME: We Rock Like Girls Don’t
SINGLE: Welcome To My World/Feeling Lonely Now
YEAR: 2010 (April 26th)
LABEL: Distort
RATING: 3/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Catchy double a-side from duo

LOCATION: London, UK

LINE UP: Ros Cairney (vocals/guitar) / Vas Antoniadou (drums)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: All sorts of noises are being made about these two: shortlisted for indie awards, rave live reviews and critical acclaim for previous singles haven’t blunted the sharp choruses or wearied the bursting rhythms these two lash out. ‘Welcome To My World’ is a punchy little number, perfect for a blurry Wednesday morning commute. Also featured is ‘Feeling Lonely Now’ which flatters to deceive and is a simple rocker that’ll get the kids in Shoreditch moving. Possibly also on a blurry Wednesday morning. Not that I’m jealous…

SOUNDS LIKE: a jagged glass of PJ Harvey, poured over Pixies ice.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: Moving and shaking in all manner of hipster ways.
