NAME: OK
ALBUM: Under The Weather But Over The Moon
YEAR: 2009 (November 15th)
LABEL: Sound Of Monkey
RATING: 2/5
FIVE WORD REVIEW: Five years too late. Sorry.
LOCATION: Cardiff, Wales
LINE UP: Joe (vocals, guitar) / Adam (bass)
WHAT’S THE STORY?: Fair play to James Lewis. He’s produced Arctic Monkeys and The Wombats, with great success. But there are only so many inches on a ruler, and with his latest project, OK, Mr Lewis has surely run out of length. The Cardiff quartet have leapt onto the back of a bandwagon long passed, and unfortunately have already been pipped to the post. By a hundred other bands.
SOUNDS LIKE: Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, and everything else headlining the main stage at the Carling Weekend several years ago. It’s fun, light-hearted and listenable, but lacks any originality.
YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF YOU LIKE: clever jeux de mots for an album title, which lack backing from the music.
