Young Guns – All Our Kings Are Dead

NAME: Young Guns
ALBUM: All Our Kings Are Dead
DATE: 12July2010

LABEL: Live Forever

RATING: 3/5

FIVE WORD REVIEW: Enthusiastic, passionate, rock with promise

LOCATION: High Wycombe

LINE UP: Gustav Wood (Vocals) Fraser Taylor (Guitar) John Taylor (Guitar) Simon Mitchell (Bass) Ben Jolliffe (Drums)

WHAT’S THE STORY?: It’s a tad predictable when a punk-pop album starts with reverb noise, but to give these youngsters their dues it’s a loud, proud enthusiastic first full length offering. ‘Crystal Clear’ is the stand-out track and the only one with a chorus that sticks around once the album’s finished.

SOUNDS LIKE: The exact sum of its parts: it’s hard to escape the Lost Prophets, Taking Back Sunday, Coheed and Cambria type influences.

YOU’LL LIKE THIS IF: If you’re not expecting anything too innovative, just a decent example of the genre.
